— Says it was a political calculation by my opponents to blackmail me for having edge over them in winning PDP primary for house of representative election.
Mr. Ekengboju Gboluga, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative Aspirant for Okitipupa-Irele Federal constituency, has distanced self and denied ever having knowlegde or leading any group of people to assault the Okitipupa local government PDP party chairman, Mr. Adewo Olorunsola Dangote which was reported to have been assaulted yesterday at the PDP party secretariat in Akure.
In a statement signed by Mr. Inuojo Jospeh and made available to Starnews, Mr. Gboluga said that the report of assault on the party chairman which was linked to him was a political calculations by some of his co-contestants to blackmail his personality after which they realised that he already had an egde over them in winning the PDP primary for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency.
He says the news was programmed by his detractors to misinform his constituency.
Gboluga said he only went to the party secretariat to submit his nomination form and left the place without having any issue with anyone .
According to him:
” The news that I led some party executives to beat up my local government party chairman was mischievious, not true, and a political calculation by my opponent to pull me down and misinform my constituency after which they already knew I have edge ahead of everyone of them in winning the PDP primary election in my constituency.”
“No amount of name calling and character assasination by my detractors will distract me or mislead party delegates from voting for me, he said.
