Solomon Bitire, a political gladiator in the South Senatorial District of Ondo State, has said he didn’t leave the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement on Sunday, Bitire said he was only aggrieved but never resign his membership of the party at any point in time.
According to him, “I was aggrieved but my principal who is the leader of Ondo South and Chief Eddy Olafeso, the former south-west chairman of the PDP has pacified me and my supporters and we have agreed to move on to play active roles in the PDP as before,” he said.
Bitire who said he is no longer aggrieved narrated how he went to prison because of the party. He said: “I was remanded because of this party. Dr Tayo Dairo and Chief Eddy Olafeso can also testify to this. I have been playing my active part in the PDP since inception till date. I have suffered so much for the Party.”
“You can ask Hon. Ikengboju Gboluga, the serving lawmaker representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives. I midwife his first primary election as House of Representatives Aspirant then with some few individuals and we defeated the incumbent at that time.”
“To the glory of God, I was chairman of the party in my local government and the chairman of chairmen of the PDP in Ondo State for years, I never lose any election conducted during my time. I am a pioneer member of the PDP. We started this party with the likes of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and late Dr Olusegun Agagu.”
“I was sufficiently aggrieved when those who joined the party yesterday think the PDP is their personal property. Though I was very aggrieved before but no more.”
“I call on the leadership of the party at the state level to embrace everybody and not be a tool in the hands of selfish individuals to have a united party ahead of future elections,” he added.
