Ekiti PDP Celebrates Lere Olayinka’s Appointment As PDP Spokesman for S’west

The Ekiti State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed its gratitude to the
South West Caretaker Committee of the party for appointing Lere Olayinka, the media aide of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as Zonal Director of Media and Publicity.

The PDP State Publicity Secretary, Raphael Adeyanju, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, said that the appointment will go a long way to unite Ekiti state PDP, especially in fighting the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, who is a common enemy.

The PDP spokesman said: ” Our party has just made a very smart decision because Lere Olayinka’s new assignment is a very difficult and challenging task that can only be handled by a competent and a committed party man, who is very familiar with this type of difficult terrain. The PDP is an opposition party, both at the federal and the regional level to a party that is intolerant to a dissenting voice.

” It will take a lot of courage and determination to confront a fascist government that is ever ready to suppress opposition and cover its inadequacies with blatant lies and propaganda. This is why we need the likes of Lere Olayinka as the spokesman. This is a man who has consistently exposed the weakness of the ruling party and keeps it on its toes.”

Adeyanju enjoined all members of Ekiti state PDP to bury their differences and work towards a common goal of wrestling power from the ruling APC, both at the federal and the state level.

He said:

“The APC is a regrettable mistake that must be corrected. The party has brought nothing but sorrow to Nigerians, who are looking up to the PDP to help remove this APC yoke from their shoulders. Ekiti State is particularly in need of the urgent intervention of our party before the incumbent APC government destroy our collective destiny,” the statement added.
