Ondo 2020: Okunomo’s endorsement receives additional boost by 35 PDP Ward Excos in Ilaje LG

Barely 24 hours some Executive members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State endorsed Banji Okunomo, not less than 35 Ward Excos who are automatic delegates to the PDP governorship primary appended their signatures in a separate endorsement paper in support of Okunomo, popularly known as BBO, as their sole governorship aspirant from the Local Government.

Starnews NG reports that the development is ahead of the party’s primaries for the forthcoming governorship election in October 10, this year.

35 out of the 48 PDP delegates across the 12 wards of Ilaje Local Government in exception of the Ward chairmen who are already part of the Local Government Executives gave their endorsement on Friday in a resolution dated May 8, 2020, and made available to newsmen in Akure, Ondo State Capital.

The resolution reads:

In exercise of our constitutional rights, we the principal exco of the Peoples Democratic party PDP in the 12 wards of Ilaje local government area of ondo state, excluding our ward chairmen who have already signed the endorsement paper at the local government level, wish to express our concurrence with the endorsement of the governorship aspirant and one of the leaders of our party HON.BANJI OKUNOMO as sole aspirant for the local government.

It is our firm resolve, after weighing all options, that HON. BANJI OKUNOMO is the most acceptable and sellable governorship aspirant who has demonstrated capacity, willingness and readiness in pursuit of his gubernatorial ambition amongst the aspirants we have in our local government.
