Ondo SUBEB commences academic classes on Radio for school pupils

The chairman of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Ondo State, Princess Oladunni Odu, has ordered the commencement of academic classes on the radio for primary school pupils in Ondo State.

In a statement she personally signed on Thursday and made available to news men by her special assistant on media and publicity, Mike Kuwoye, the teaching of the students via the radio is to ensure that school pupils in Ondo State continue with their learning and academic curriculum at home in this period of coronavirus pandemic.

The programme will commence today, Thursday, April 2, 2020, on Orange 94.5FM Akure.

”The academic classes on radio is part of the strategic efforts of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration to ensure the school pupils in Ondo State continue with their learning and academic curriculum at home in this period of coronavirus pandemic”, Princess Odu said.

She also said the radio teaching will start with English Language studies and Mathematics, and that, General Paper will be included later.

”With this development, the negative impact of the school closure on our pupils in Ondo State due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic will be mitigated”, she added.

Starnews NG reports that the timetable of the radio programme, tagged: “SUBEB on Radio”, will run as follows:

Thursday 12:00-1:00pm and 3:30-4:00pm.

Friday 12:30:-1:00pm and 3:00-3:30pm.

Sunday 3:00-3:30pm and 4:30-5:00pm.

Monday 3:00-3:30pm.

Tuesday 1:30-2:30pm and 3:00-3:30pm.

Wednesday 1:30-2:00pm and 4:30-5:00pm.

Princess Odu has urged parents, guardians, and caregivers to instruct their children/wards to listen attentively to this Educational Programme and participate actively in the learning process, Starnews NG reports.
