Prioritise Security of lives in Ondo, NNPP charges Aiyedatiwa

The Ondo State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to prioritise security by providing more support for security agencies to address the state’s growing security challenges.

State Chairman of the party, Pastor Peter Olagookun, made the call in a statement, stressing that safeguarding lives and property remains the primary duty of any government. He urged Aiyedatiwa to intensify efforts in tackling security concerns through strategic investments.

“There is an urgent need for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to invest more in security technology, intelligence gathering, surveillance, and logistics. These measures will enhance the operational capacity of security agencies and improve overall safety in the state,” Olagookun stated.

The NNPP chairman also emphasised the importance of synergy among security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Amotekun Corps, and other security outfits. He called on the state government to equip them with the necessary gadgets and resources to strengthen their operations.

Furthermore, Olagookun urged stakeholders and community leaders across the state to contribute to maintaining peace and stability, noting that security is a collective responsibility.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure Ondo State remains safe. The responsibility of security does not rest on the government alone but on all stakeholders and citizens,” he added.

The call from the NNPP comes amid rising concerns over insecurity in various parts of the state, with residents urging the government to take decisive action.
