Akpabio: Natasha’s allegation reveals abuse of power, Atanda-Owo lashes DCW

Media personality Kikelomo Atanda-Owo has condemned Senate Deputy Chief Whip Onyekachi Nwaebonyi for his response to Senator Natasha Akpoti’s sexual harassment allegation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Senator Natasha alleged that Akpabio made inappropriate advances toward her during a visit to his residence in December 2023 to celebrate his birthday.

She also claimed a similar incident occurred when she visited his office to discuss her motion on the Ajaokuta Steel Company.

In response, Senator Nwaebonyi, who attended the birthday event, dismissed her claims, insisting that Akpabio never acted in such a manner.

He accused Natasha of fabricating the allegation because the Senate President had reassigned her seat.

Speaking on her YouTube show Real Talk With Kike, Atanda-Owo expressed disappointment over the backlash Natasha has faced. She emphasized that the senator’s allegations were not just personal complaints but an exposure of power abuse in Nigeria’s political system.

She also pointed out the challenges women face in male-dominated spaces.

Atanda-Owo criticized Nwaebonyi for resorting to personal attacks instead of addressing the core issue. She also questioned why Akpabio blocked Natasha’s motion on the Ajaokuta Steel Company if it was truly in the nation’s best interest, urging that governance should take priority over political disputes.

She concluded by advising Natasha to remain strategic in navigating the political landscape.
