The Lagos State Police Command has initiated an investigation into allegations of harassment made by popular On-Air Personality, Omotunde Adebowale-David, known as Lolo1, against police officers attached to a government official’s convoy.
Lolo1 took to Instagram Live on February 26, 2025, to recount what she described as an unfair and distressing encounter with law enforcement officers in Lagos. She alleged that the officers stopped her vehicle, seized her car keys, and accused her of damaging a government official’s car after his convoy forced her off the road—an accusation she firmly denied.
According to her, it was the officers who scratched her car before forcibly taking her keys.
Confirming the development, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, had personally reached out to Lolo1 and invited her to provide a full account of the incident.
“The Commissioner of Police has contacted Lolo to hear her side of the story and has assured that any officer found guilty will face appropriate sanctions,” Hundeyin stated.
A video circulating online captures Lolo1 and a male colleague attempting to retrieve her car keys from the officers.
In an interview with News Central, she further narrated her ordeal, revealing that she was instructed to enter a police vehicle.
“It was a frightening experience, and I am still shaken. I decided to go live on Instagram to document everything in real time so people could see what was happening,” she said.
The Lagos State Police Command has reassured the public of a thorough investigation, promising appropriate action against any officer found culpable.
