Residents of Ondo State are calling for urgent action from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa following the kidnapping of Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, the National President of the Afenifere National Youths Council.
Starnews NG reports that Ojajuni was abducted on Monday, February 17, 2025, along the Kabba Road in Kogi State, triggering widespread concern among his constituents and community members.
According to Abiodun Aderohunmu, the National Secretary of the Afenifere National Youths Council, the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N100,000,000 for Ojajuni’s safe return.
This alarming situation has prompted many residents, especially those from Ilaje, Ondo State—Ojajuni’s hometown and the same local government area as Governor Aiyedatiwa—to plead for immediate intervention from their state leader.
Wale Odusola, a notable community figure, is among those urging Governor Aiyedatiwa to take decisive action. His call for intervention has resonated deeply within the community, highlighting the pressing need for the government to intervene in the scary situation.
Adding his voice to the urgent plea, Tope Temokun, a lawyer and human rights activist, has also reached out to the governor, emphasizing the importance of swift and effective measures to secure Ojajuni’s release.
Similarly, lawyer Odunola Sandra Ogunmola has called not only for the governor’s involvement but also for support from netizens. She has shared account details for fundraising efforts aimed at meeting the kidnappers’ demands.
Community member Ojo Yeye has echoed these sentiments, urging both the government and the police to act quickly to ensure the safety of Ojajuni and to address the rampant issue of kidnapping that has affected many families not only in Ondo state, but Nigeria at large.
In a heartfelt plea, Ojajuni’s wife, Omolara Ojajuni, has also issued a press statement, including account details to garner support for her husband’s rescue. Her emotional appeal has touched many hearts, as she seeks the collective effort of the community to bring her husband home safely.
Additionally, Ojajuni’s brother, Golden Ojajuni Adeleke, has taken to social media, appealing for help from a committee of friends and the public to raise awareness and resources for the urgent situation.
As the community rallies together in support of Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, Starnews NG joins the call for help and urges anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward. The safety of this dedicated leader and advocate for the youth is a priority, and it is imperative that all hands are on deck to ensure his swift and safe return.
The residents of Ondo State stand united in their plea for action, hoping that their voices will reach the ears of those in power, and that Prince Ojajuni will soon be reunited with his family.
