The Federal Government will begin promotion exams for senior officers in Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies to fill vacancies in top positions.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this after a board meeting in Abuja.
The affected agencies include the Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. Officers below the ranks of Deputy Controller and Assistant Controller will be considered for promotion.
The selection process will involve screening and exams to ensure qualified officers fill the vacant positions.
The accreditation of candidates is set to start on March 9 and will run until March 11, with the entire process expected to conclude by the end of March.
The minister also mentioned that the board is working on an official handbook that will soon be made available to all agencies and the public.
