President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following his participation in the 38th African Union Summit held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
He and his wife, Oluremi, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, where they were welcomed at the presidential wing.
Earlier, they left Bole Addis Ababa International Airport at 4:00 PM local time.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, was present to see them off. Upon arrival in Abuja, Tinubu received military honors at the airport.
During the summit, President Tinubu attended key discussions where President Joao Lourenço of Angola was named the new AU chairperson, and Mahmoud Ali Youssouf from Djibouti was elected as the chairperson of the AU Commission.
Additionally, the theme for the year, “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations,” was launched, focusing on seeking justice for Africa and its people.
