Police operatives in Imo state have arrested the owner of the hospital where doctors performed a Caesarean Session on a pregnant woman while watching a YouTube clip.

Daily Times Reports that the incident happened at the Lebechi Hospital in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

It was learnt that a doctor and other staff of the facility were accused of watching how to perform Caesarean Section on a pregnant patient.

This, however, led to the death of the pregnant woman and her.

According to Daily Times, in a video shared on Instagram by Stanley Ontop, a Nollywood producer, Onyekachi Eze, the husband to the woman and the child narrated how the doctors and nurses performed a CS on his pregnant wife.

According to Eze, he brought his wife who was in Labour to the hospital and was informed by the doctor that a CS needed to be carried out on her.

He, however stated that after consenting to the procedure, he was only shocked when he saw the doctor watching a CS procedure on YouTube.

He said,“I carried my wife to the hospital when she was in labor, and the doctor said she needed to undergo an operation because she was bleeding.

“So the female doctor called another doctor to come and operate on her. Right in my presence, they were using their phones to watch a YouTube video on how to perform surgery, and I lost my wife and my baby during the process.”

In a second video, the Nollywood producer subsequently showed where police officers had arrested the owner of the hospital.

The second video was captioned, “The owner of the hospital where doctors were watching YouTube on how to perform surgery on a pregnant woman has been arrested.

Nurses were arrested too, but the doctors who performed the surgery had absconded. They are still being searched for.”
