Fire at Almajiri School Claims 17 Lives in Zamfara

At least 17 students died after a fire broke out at an Almajiri school in Kauran Namoda, Zamfara State, on Tuesday night.

The blaze, which lasted around three hours, caused significant damage before it was finally controlled.

Several students were injured and are receiving medical care.

Witnesses said the fire spread quickly, making it hard to manage despite efforts from emergency responders and local authorities who arrived at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
