The Anambra State Government has taken swift action to demolish a building operating as a kidnappers’ hideout under the guise of a hotel along the Onitsha-Owerri Road.
According to Afripost in a statement released on Saturday via its official New Media X (formerly Twitter) account, the government revealed that the establishment, known as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also referred to as “La Cruise Hotel,” had become a notorious center for criminal activities, especially kidnapping.
Authorities uncovered chilling evidence of the hotel’s criminal use, including over 30 partitioned graves found on its top floor, which point to the extent of illicit operations carried out at the site.
The statement read: “In Oba, Idemili South LGA, the demolition of a kidnappers’ den disguised as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as ‘La Cruise Hotel,’ has been completed. The site contained a shrine and over 30 well-partitioned graves on the top floor.”
This decisive action by the Anambra government reinforces its commitment to eradicating criminal activity and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
The authorities have called on residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
