Ondo Govt Honours Ilaje Billionaire, Olomidegun, Over Contribution Towards Education

Ondo State Government has honoured an Ilaje Billionaire and a Philanthropist, High Chief Simeon Olumuyiwa Olomidegun, with an Award of Excellence, over his contributions towards education development in Ondo State.

Starnews reports that Olomidegun, who was accompanied to the venue of the Award Ceremony by High Networth Individuals (HNI), friends and associates, including Hon. Banji Okunomo, Ondo State leading People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Aspirant, received the Award of Excellence on Tuesday, at Aquinas College, Akure, Ondo State.

The Award of Excellence was presented to High Chief Olomidegun and other recipients, by Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Secretary to the state government, on behalf of Ondo State government.

Starnews gathered that the ceremony was the Maiden Edition of Award of Excellence organised by Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, to Philanthropists and Old Students Associations for their contributions to education development in the State.

Speaking to Starnews moment after he received the Award, Olomidegun appreciated the State Government for recognising his contributions towards education. He promised to do more especially in the area of Education Scholarships for the children of the downtrodden.

Starnews learnt that High Chief Olomidegun is an oil magnate and a renowned philanthropist, from Ilaje local government of Ondo State who is known for helping the poor, giving education scholarships and interest-free loans to support the weak, with many other philanthropic donations to the society. 

Also present at the Award ceremony was His Royal Highness, Oba Babafemi Ogbaro, the Odoka of Obe Ogbaro in Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State.
