By: Bayero Ade

Armed bandits intercepted a man transporting food items and beverages intended for Christmas celebrations in Gidan Abe, a village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening around 5:23 p.m., as the victim was returning from Katari, where he had purchased a bag of rice, drinks, and condiments for the festive season.

According to a local leader, the attackers, riding motorcycles, blocked the man’s path, seized his goods, and fled the scene. However, they did not harm or abduct the victim.

“While visiting Katari earlier today, I learned that a man traveling to Gidan Abe for Christmas preparations was stopped by bandits who made away with his food items,” the community leader revealed.

As of now, the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the incident. Efforts to contact the spokesperson, ASP Hassan Mansur, for comments have been unsuccessful.
