A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Banji Okunomo, has commended the appointment of Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, describing it as a recognition of his loyalty, hard work, and dedication.
In a statement on Wednesday, Okunomo, who served as Spokesman of the APC Governorship Campaign Council and Secretary 1 of Strategic Communication, said the appointment reflects the value of rewarding commitment and competence.
“I had the privilege of working closely with Mr. Odusola-Stevenson in a committee where I served as Secretary 1 on Strategic Communications. He is a calm individual and an attentive listener, attributes that set him apart as a capable leader,” he said.
Okunomo also charged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to ensure that appointments within his administration are guided by merit and professionalism, rather than being seen as mere compensations for partisanship.
“Basing appointments on merit and professionalism will inspire appointees to inject competence and expertise into their roles, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of governance,” he said.
He added that prioritizing professionalism in the selection process would encourage innovation, dedication, and accountability among public officials, which would drive development and translate into improved service delivery.
Okunomo expressed confidence in Odusola-Stevenson’s abilities, stating that his expertise and commitment would bring life back to the state-owned media houses.
