Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has pledged his unwavering support for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, encouraging him to remain steadfast in the face of political challenges.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Bori Town Internal Roads project in Khana Local Government Area, Secondus lauded Fubara’s leadership, describing him as a man of humility, integrity, and sacrifice.
He commended the governor’s achievements through the Urban Renewal Policy, which has focused on transforming key cities across the state, including Bori Town.
“For my people, this road is a blessing that we must own and maintain. It reflects leadership rooted in humility and respect for elders,” Secondus said.
He praised Fubara’s calm and determined approach to governance, expressing confidence in his ability to withstand opposition. “Be strong and courageous. You will overcome your adversaries. Power comes from God, and He has given you this mandate. Your love and dedication to the people will always speak for you,” he added.
In his remarks, Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the Rivers South-East Senatorial District. He noted that the completed 14 kilometres of roads covering 23 streets in Bori Town is only the first phase of a broader urban transformation initiative.
“This project is about the people of Khana and the future of the Senatorial District, not who started it. We are laying the foundation for sustainable growth, and I assure you that the second phase will commence soon,” Fubara said.
The governor emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in driving development, urging residents to foster inclusivity.
“Development thrives when people come together. Let us embrace unity and openness to ensure lasting progress in our communities,” he added.
