Atiku Should Forget 2027, Wait Until 2031 – APC Chieftain

Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has advised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to abandon his presidential aspirations for 2027 and consider 2031 instead.

In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Igbokwe described Atiku’s 2027 ambition as unrealistic, pointing out that his age and other factors make his chances slim in the upcoming election.

“Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is still dreaming of becoming Nigeria’s president in 2027,” Igbokwe wrote. “It cannot fly, all things considered. He should wait till 2031. Even at that, age is not on his side.”

Igbokwe’s remarks align with recent comments by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who suggested that no candidate from the North should challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The APC chieftain’s statement has sparked further conversations about the political landscape ahead of the next presidential election and Atiku’s future in Nigerian politics.
