We Stand with Wike; He Is Always There for Us– PDP Hails FCT Minister

By: Bayero Ade

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed unwavering support for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, lauding his dedication, loyalty, and contributions to the party.

Speaking during a book launch in Wike’s honor, the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, commended the minister for his steadfastness and commitment, even amid internal challenges within the party.

“Our mentor and principal, who has never left PDP for a day, remains one of the most committed and loyal leaders the party has ever produced,” Arapaja stated. “He has done well, he is doing well, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors.”

Arapaja praised Wike for his advocacy for equity, justice, and fairness, citing his active role in the G5 group and his consistent support for fellow party members. He contrasted Wike’s leadership with others who, he said, engage with the party only when in need of assistance.

“Some people operate with an entitlement mentality, but we will always stand by you because you are a man of integrity, honor, and performance,” Arapaja said.

The PDP leader also criticized Senate President Godswill Akpabio for his comments about the party, describing them as disappointing. He reminded Akpabio of his political roots, highlighting his tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State under the PDP.

“The foundation of all political parties is the PDP. It is surprising when someone who is a product of this party speaks negatively about it,” Arapaja remarked. “Nobody can deny that the current Senate President performed during his tenure as governor under the PDP.”

The event served as a platform for the PDP to reaffirm its recognition of Wike as a pillar of the party, emphasizing its continued support for his leadership.
