The Federal High Court in Abuja has approved bail for former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello at N500 million.
The court imposed strict conditions, including two sureties with properties in Abuja, verified by court authorities.
Additionally, Bello must surrender his international passport and cannot leave the country without permission.
Until the bail conditions are met, the former governor will remain in Kuje prison.
His trial, addressing a 19-count charge of money laundering involving N80.2 billion, is scheduled to begin on February 24 and 28.
Allegations include the use of proxies to purchase properties in Abuja and Dubai.
Bello, who served as Kogi State governor from 2016 to 2024, denied any wrongdoing in the case brought by the EFCC.
