Farouk Lawan, the former member of the House of Representatives, recently visited his constituency, Bagwai/Shanono Federal Constituency, for the first time since his release from prison in October.
Reflecting on his time behind bars, Lawan described it as a test from God that imparted important life lessons.
Wearing a red cap with the Kwankwasiyya movement’s insignia, led by Rabiu Kwankwaso, Lawan was welcomed by the district head, Shehu Ahmed, and a crowd of supporters.
He made it clear that his visit was not politically motivated but rather a gesture of gratitude for the community’s unwavering support during his difficult years of imprisonment.
Lawan drew a parallel between his ordeal and the story of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), emphasizing that, like Yusuf, he believes he can rise from adversity and achieve greater things in the future.
