The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed frustration over repeated delays in holding the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
The National Working Committee (NWC) had postponed the meeting for the third time, with the most recent rescheduling affecting the November 28 session.
During an emergency BoT meeting in Abuja, Chairman Adolphus Wabara voiced dissatisfaction, pointing out that these postponements harm the party’s internal cohesion and undermine democratic practices.
He urged the NWC to ensure the meeting holds as planned in February 2025 to restore members’ confidence.
The BoT also discussed the broader economic challenges Nigerians face, criticizing the current administration’s policies for worsening poverty and hardship.
Wabara emphasized the need for the PDP to position itself as a credible alternative by addressing the people’s suffering and advocating better governance.
Internally, he called for unity among PDP governors, highlighting their role in driving the party’s success across states.
Efforts to engage aggrieved members, including former Governor Nyesom Wike, were reaffirmed as part of ongoing reconciliation strategies.
Concluding the meeting, Wabara encouraged party members to embrace the holiday season as an opportunity for reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to strengthening the PDP.
