The Oyo State Government has eliminated the N4,000 fee that civil servants previously had to pay to access their retirement forms.
This decision, announced by the Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Olusegun Olayiwola, is designed to lessen the financial strain on retirees.
Under this new directive from Governor Seyi Makinde, retirees can now access their retirement forms for free through an online portal.
This change aligns with Makinde’s broader initiative to improve the lives of retirees, including raising monthly gratuity payments from N250 million to N500 million, ensuring timely payments.
The move has been praised by government officials, including Permanent Secretary Olajide Okesade, who commended the decision for easing financial burdens and demonstrating the government’s concern for retirees’ welfare.
Additionally, the introduction of electronic payments for gratuity benefits further streamlines the retirement process, allowing for more efficient and secure transactions.
