9-year-old killed, another injured at Kebbi wedding shooting

A wedding ceremony in Kebbi State turned tragic when a nine-year-old boy, Al’amin Garba, was fatally shot, and a seven-year-old, Bello Shehu, sustained severe injuries.

According to Politics Nigeria, the incident occurred in Koko/Besse Local Government Area, where Muhammad Sani allegedly opened fire on the guests. Garba was struck in the head and died instantly, while Shehu suffered critical injuries to his ribs and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Authorities have arrested the suspect, and the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, condemned the incident as an unacceptable act of violence. He urged residents to surrender illegal firearms to enhance public safety and pledged a thorough investigation and swift prosecution of the suspect.
