The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has secured second position among Nigeria’s 258 universities and ranked 26th in Sub-Saharan Africa.

This was disclosed in the 2023 inaugural Times Higher Education’s (THE) Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings.

The rankings assess the top universities in Sub-Saharan Africa based on various performance indicators using five pillars: ‘access and fairness’, ‘Africa impact’, ‘teaching skills’, ‘student engagement’, and ‘resources and finance’.

The announcement by THE’s Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings was made on Monday, June 26, 2023, during the organization’s inaugural forum, held in collaboration with Ashesi University in Ghana, evaluating 88 universities from 17 countries across the region.

Speaking on the feat, FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, expressed appreciation to the entire university community, saying the recognition would serve as a catalyst for increased dedication to duty.
