Pastor Olusegun Aiyerin, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), has congratulated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, on his re-election in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
Starnews Nigeria reports that Akeredolu was declared the winner of the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Congratulating Akeredolu on Tuesday at Ilutitun town under Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Aiyerin, a two-term chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, also applauded the good people of Ilutitun for supporting governor Akeredolu’s reelection.
Recall that the electorate of Ilutitun disowned their son, Hon. Ikengboju Gboluga, the deputy governorship candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and massively voted Akeredolu, the candidate of the ruling APC which led to the failure of the PDP in the three wards of Ilutitun town on Saturday, October 10, 2020, governorship election.
Aiyerin described Akeredolu’s reelection as a renewed mandate to better the lives of the people of Ondo State.
”I salute the leadership and the entire members of the All Progressive Congress in Okitipupa Local Government, especially in the three wards of Ilutitun for believing in the continuity of the government of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Ondo State.”
”I commend you all, and we deserve special commendation for standing firm to support the APC and our governor where our party won the three wards as seen in the election results despite having Gboluga, our son, as the deputy candidate of the PDP.
”Akeredolu deserves to be reelected due to his unbelievable performance. What we need now in Ondo South is a governor and not a deputy. After Akeredolu’s four years, Ondo South will produce the governor. Since Mimiko enjoyed 8 years at the Central, it could only be fair and just to allow Akeredolu to spend his second year so that power would shift to the south,” he said.
Pastor Segun Aiyerin is the Immediate Past Commissioner for Agriculture in Ondo State.
