Rose Idibia, mother of renowned singer Innocent “2face” Idibia, has pleaded with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru to leave her son alone.
In a video that went viral on Thursday, Mrs. Idibia expressed deep concern about 2face’s well-being, saying he is not himself due to his ongoing divorce from actress Annie Idibia.
She called on Nigerian mothers to join her in appealing to Osawaru, urging her to remove the beads she had placed on 2face’s hand and neck.
The controversy began when a video surfaced online showing 2face proposing to Osawaru.
In the clip, the singer and the lawmaker were seen dancing together at an event before he presented her with a ring.
The moment sparked mixed reactions, as it came just days after he publicly confirmed his relationship with Osawaru.
Speculation about their involvement had been circulating for weeks after 2face was spotted at the Edo State Assembly and later seen with Osawaru at a Lagos club.
Addressing the rumours, the African Queen hitmaker took to Instagram on Tuesday, saying he had seen many false narratives about his relationship with the lawmaker.
He dismissed claims that Osawaru was a homewrecker, insisting that she had no role in his marital issues.
He described her as a brilliant and amazing woman, stating that he loves her and wants to marry her.
Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, represents the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party.
