2Baba Declared Missing as Family Seeks DSS Intervention

The family of Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has reported him missing and called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to help locate him.

According to PUNCH, In a petition dated February 7 and signed by their lawyer, Wilson Anuge, the family revealed that the singer has been unreachable since February 10, 2025.

According to the petition, 2Baba left his residence that morning dressed in loungewear, seemingly heading out for his routine walk. However, he never returned, and multiple attempts by family members, staff, and colleagues to contact him have been unsuccessful.

Expressing deep concern, the family emphasized that this disappearance is out of character, as 2Baba has never gone missing or abandoned his commitments without notice. They also raised alarm over unusual messages sent from his social media accounts to close associates, soliciting financial assistance. Given his financial stability, the family suspects foul play.

“These messages are highly suspicious, leading us to fear that his identity has been compromised. There is a strong possibility that he has been abducted or is under duress,” the petition stated.

Appealing for an urgent investigation, the family urged the DSS to intervene and ensure his safe return.

“2Baba is not just a celebrated musician but also a national figure with millions of admirers. His sudden disappearance has caused distress to his loved ones and disrupted his professional engagements. We call for immediate action to locate and bring him back safely,” they pleaded.

Meanwhile, speculation surrounding his disappearance intensified following the emergence of a viral video on Thursday showing 2Baba proposing to Edo State House of Assembly member, Natasha Osaruwa. This development fueled rumors of an ongoing separation from his wife, Annie Idibia.

Further raising concerns, his mother, Rose Idibia, released a video on Friday, appealing to Nigerians to urge Natasha to release her son. She expressed worry over his recent behavior, claiming he had not been himself lately.
