27yr-old woman stabs boyfriend to death over sharing formula of Yahoo money

A 27-year-old woman named Oluchi Nzemechi, hailing from Ikeduru Local Government Area in Imo State, is currently under police custody following allegations of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Kelechi Nzemechi, during a dispute over the distribution of funds from their involvement in online fraud, commonly known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”

As reported by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, the suspect confessed to the crime.

The incident unfolded when the suspect revealed how her partner had lured her into cybercrime activities.

Their illicit endeavors led them to swindle an Indonesian individual out of 250 million rupiahs. However, a disagreement erupted between them regarding the division of the ill-gotten gains, resulting in a heated argument culminating in Oluchi stabbing Kelechi with a kitchen knife.

In her statement to the police, the suspect admitted that upon realizing her boyfriend’s demise, she attempted to absolve herself of guilt by leaving a note beside his lifeless body, which read, “Do you think you can eat my money and go free? I am Baba to the boys. I’m coming for your wife and kid, as well as your entire family,” before fleeing the scene.

Further investigation revealed that Oluchi had been cohabiting with the victim since 2019 and shared a child with him.

The police spokesperson assured that efforts were underway to recover the purported 250 million Indonesian Rupiah and return it to its rightful owner.

“The suspect is currently undergoing investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department and will certainly be arraigned in court,” the release partly stated
