2027: PDP Not in Talks for Merger, Says Ologbondiyan

By Our Correspondent

Kola Ologbondiyan, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has clarified that the party is not pursuing any merger with other political groups.

While individual political figures may be engaging in discussions about potential alliances, he emphasized that the PDP itself is not involved in any merger talks.

Ologbondiyan shared his insights during a recent interview, where he pointed out that while there are conversations among political players, they are not reflective of the official stance of the PDP.

He acknowledged that the possibility of creating a stronger political force to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is being considered but stressed that this is still under contemplation.

As for the PDP’s chances in future elections, Ologbondiyan noted that it remains uncertain whether the party can unseat the current government of President Bola Tinubu.

With elections still two years away, he stated that the path to victory is yet to be clearly defined.
