2024 Guber Election: Ondo Billionaire, Adewinle Declares Support For Aiyedatiwa

As the race to occupy the seat of number one citizen of Ondo State draws nearer, Starnews NG reports that the Chairman/CEO of West African Petrogas Global Limited, Dr. Jide Adewinle, has drummed support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The Ondo State born businessman made his position known when he paid a condolence visit to Governor Aiyedatiwa and the people of the state over the demise of the erstwhile Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Signing a condolence register at the end of the visit, Adewinle whose company was incorporated as a private indigenous multi-billion naira firm in the oil and gas sector described the late Governor as a great leader who would leave no stone unturned in the effort to fight insecurity in the country.

Earlier, the Ode Aye born Chartered Accountant had appreciated the Governor for his revolutionary policy initiatives which have brought sanity to the state before and after the demise of his predecessor.

In his words, “the resolve to solidarise with Governor Aiyedatiwa was informed by the events of the past few months in the state which I personally monitored and the impeachment saga with its attendant political miasma among others”, he said.

Dr. Adewinle said only God could have moved a man from the position of a Deputy Governor on the verge of impeachment to the position of a Governor.

According to the entrepreneurial whizkid, Governor Aiyedatiwa, by his wisdom, patience and courage, had saved the state from the possibility of crisis and chaos.

He did not mince words when he commended the Governor on the excellent ways he had handled the affairs of the state.

It was also the opinion of the foremost humanist and advocate of a better Ondo State that as the next governorship election is around the corner, “you don’t show love from a distance”.

To this end, the investment icon took the governor by surprise when he declared total support for his re-election.

In this connection, he offered to serve as a member of the Finance sub-committee of the Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization whenever it is constituted.

He also offered several other supports both in materials, men and mobilization of electorate all in the effort to ensure victory of Governor Aiyedatiwa both at the primaries and the general election.

Reacting, Governor Aiyedatiwa said the visit gave him an immeasurable joy as the number of prominent sons and daughters who have come to declare support for him and his re-election had increased geometrically by the coming of no less a person and well read financial and investment expert as Dr. Adewinle.

According to Mr. Governor, “you may have a good cause, but if you don’t have support from people, it could be discouraging”.

The Governor thanked this great philanthropist for believing in him and his ability to deliver.

He said the pledge had been most supportive and strengthening.

He also used the occasion to encourage the consummate businessman to channel some of his investments to the state, given his credentials as a notable business mogul in the country.
