2019: Group Seeks France Support For Dankwambo Presidential Project

A group known as Dankwambo Presidential Project (DPP) Under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has paid a courtesy visit to Mr Denys Guyer, the French Ambassador in Nigeria to seek France support for the presidential ambition of the governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo in 2019 presidential election in Nigeria.

The group, Dankwambo Presidential Project (DPP) which was led by its National Coordinator, Barr Zack Okoronkwo, told the French Ambassador, that the group is galvanizing global support that will ensure that His Excellency, Alh. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, the incumbent Governor of Gombe State emerges the President of Nigeria in 2019.

Zack said the visit was necessary because France is “a model in the history of global democracy.”

The statement read in part:

“Consequently, we are here today to solicit your support socially, politically, diplomatically and otherwise for the reality of a worthy presidential project in 2019. We are here to urge you to play more active role in observing our electoral process, in frankly condemning impunity of any guise, and in strategically influencing other global power like you to adopt a more favourable posture towards true democracy and sustainability in Nigeria.”

“It is indeed our prayer that our country will produce a President in 2019 that has the semblance and worthy ideological incline with the President of France. We mean a President that is youthful, knowledgeable, liberal at heart, democratic indeed and acceptable by all. If that happens, we are sure that France and Nigeria will experience a more enhanced mutually responsive and boisterous relationship useful to both economies.”

“When you elected President Emmanuel Macron, you made a bold statement to the world.”We appreciate that France has firmly subscribed to the global crave for paradigm shift in Governance.”The world today is for the youth. And that is the major factor we hope will define Nigerian destiny in 2019.The truth is that the Nigerian youth are fatigued with the old. We want a new order; a New Nigeria led by the youth.”

“Let us assure you that our principal, His Excellency, Alh Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo parades the kind of pedigree that best corresponds with the interest France stands for in Nigeria. Among all the serous contenders for President in 2019, Dankwambo is the youngest. He is well educated and knowledgeable. He is a prudent manager of resources. And he is not an ethnic or religious jingoist.”

“Alh Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has served our nation in several capacities and so far, he is without blemish. He is a reformer with creative mind who introduced landmark innovations particularly in our nation’s accounting processes. As Governor of Gombe state, Dankwambo’s strides are amazing. His focus has been on Security of Lives and Property, Human Capital Development, Economy, Infrastructural Recreation, etc. You can quickly verify that Gombe state is one of the few states in Nigeria where civil servants and the citizens are at peace with their Governor,” the statement added.

While reacting, the French Ambassador, His excellency Denys Guyer stated that though France like other diplomatic missions will never interfere with the internal process but the Embassy assures the group of France determination to play active roles in observing the process and to ensure that international standard is maintained.

The Embassy further agrees that France has stakes in Nigeria and must therefore encourage the reality of the will of the people.

Mr Denys thanked the group for particularly recognising France relevance in democratic processes, he therefore assured the group never to let them down base on the confidence repose in France as a democratic nation.
