16 kidnapped, two escape as Bandits raid Kaduna village

Mararraba Mazuga village in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State was thrown into turmoil when bandits attacked the community overnight, abducting 16 villagers.

According to Politics Nigeria, the incident occurred between 11 p.m. and midnight, leaving the village in shock and disarray.

A local resident, Wayas Musa, confirmed that two victims managed to escape, while seven others were released by the kidnappers to go and raise ransom money for the remaining hostages.

Na’omi Kayit, one of the released victims, shared that her two daughters are still being held captive. One daughter is a student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, while the other, on a scholarship in Togo, had been home on break.

As of now, the kidnappers have not yet reached out to the victims’ families to demand any ransom.

Efforts to contact the Kaduna State Police Command for a statement were unsuccessful, as the Public Relations Officer, ASP Munsir Hassan, could not be reached for comment.
