An unidentified disease outbreak in the Chessi community of Kulani District, Balanga Local Government Area, Gombe State, has resulted in the deaths of 12 people and hospitalized over 50 others, according to Daily Trust.
More than 30 patients are currently bedridden, experiencing severe symptoms including headaches, high fever, jaundice, and stomach pain. Community members have been urged by doctors to promptly report any suspicious symptoms to the health center established at Chessi Primary School.
In response to the crisis, Alhaji Musa Buba, the representative of Balanga North Constituency in the Gombe State House of Assembly, has donated drugs and consumables valued at over 1.5 million naira to support the affected residents. He acted swiftly upon receiving reports of the outbreak and expressed appreciation to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for dispatching a delegation from the Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Patients such as Habiba Salisu, Aisha Mohammed, and Mohammed Sulaiman, who were interviewed, expressed gratitude to Hon. Musa Buba for providing essential medical supplies during this challenging time.
